What do client reports answer?
They answer the question every client asks at the end of the month. What happened, what did you do, and what comes next? A good report answers all three in a form the client will actually read.
Reporting on AI search is harder than classic SEO. There is no single ranking to point at. Answers vary run to run, and several engines behave differently. The reports are built to explain that clearly, without burying the client in raw data.
How does it work?
Reports follow a regular cycle once they are set up.
- Set up the brand. Add the client's logo so every report and email carries it.
- Build the report. Use the report builder to choose what goes in.
- Add your recommendations. Write your own advice for the month, in your own words.
- Let the checks run. Automated claim checks re-check the numbers before the report is sent.
- Send and share. The monthly PDF goes out, the weekly digest keeps people updated, and private share links let others view it.
What formats are there?
There are four ways a report reaches people. The table shows each one and what it suits.
| Format | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly PDF | The full report with your client's logo | Monthly reviews and board packs |
| Weekly digest email | A short update between reports | Keeping people in touch without a login |
| Video summary | A short video of the main points | Busy clients who will not open a PDF |
| Share link | A private link to the report | Passing the report to colleagues |
Every scene in a video summary goes through a quality check. Share links use private tokens and are marked noindex, so reports do not end up in search results.
Why are the numbers re-checked?
Because a wrong number in a client report costs more than it seems. It takes one figure that does not match the dashboard for a client to start doubting the rest. Automated claim checks go through the numbers a report states and check them against the data before it is sent.
This matters more with AI data than with most. Share of voice, prominence and accuracy scores all move from run to run. A report that states them carefully, and gets them right, builds trust over time.
What should go in an AI visibility report?
The report builder lets you choose, so it helps to have a view on what matters. For most clients, we would suggest the following.
- How often AI engines mention the brand, from AI visibility tracking.
- Which competitors are named and recommended instead, from competitor share of voice.
- Whether the engines describe the business correctly, from answer accuracy.
- What visits AI search sent, from AI traffic analytics.
- What was done this month and what comes next, from Work.
The last point is often the one clients value most. Your manual recommendations are where you turn the numbers into advice. Our guide on how to measure AI visibility covers which measures are worth reporting and how to explain them.
How is this different from a classic SEO report?
A classic SEO report leads with rankings and traffic. Those still matter, and many clients still want them. Rank tracking keeps them in the same login.
An AI visibility report has to do more explaining. The client needs to know which engines were asked, what questions were used and why the numbers move about. It also needs to show things a ranking report never did, such as which brands are recommended instead and whether the engines get the facts right. Keeping that plain and honest is most of the job.
Can clients log in instead?
Yes, if you want them to. Clients can have their own login and see only their own workspace. Staff can keep answer accuracy hidden from client users until they turn it on. That lets you check the findings and plan fixes before the client sees them.
Many clients still prefer a PDF and an email. The reports and the login work side by side, so you can offer both.
Who uses it?
Agencies use white label reports across all their clients, with each one branded to the client. The agencies page covers the multi-client setup. SEO consultants use them to give a solo practice a professional monthly pack. In-house teams use the monthly PDF for board updates. Where it fits
Reports are the last step each month. AI visibility tracking and competitor share of voice supply the headline numbers. Work records what was done and whether it moved anything. The report brings it together for the people who need to see it.
