What does prompt research answer for you?
It answers the first question in any AI visibility work. Which questions should we track, and which should we answer on our site? If your prompt set is built on guesses, your tracking will be too.
QA Finder helps you start from real questions instead. It gathers them from where people actually ask, then helps you decide what to do with each one. Some you will track. Some you will answer with new content. Some will do both.
Where do the questions come from?
They come from four places, each with its own strengths.
| Source | What it finds |
|---|---|
| People Also Ask | The follow-up questions Google shows for your topic |
| Google autocomplete | The phrases people start typing about what you sell |
| Reddit threads | Real questions in plain words, found through Google results and the threads AI engines cite |
| Your enquiries and call notes | The questions your own buyers ask you |
People Also Ask and autocomplete show what people search for. Reddit shows how they talk when they ask each other. Your own enquiries show what real buyers want to know before they commit. Together they give a fuller picture than any one source.
How does QA Finder work?
It collects questions from each source and lets you act on each one.
- Start with a topic. Choose the products, services or subjects you want questions for.
- Gather questions. QA Finder pulls People Also Ask, autocomplete and Reddit questions for that topic.
- Add your own. Paste enquiries or call notes, and it extracts the questions. Personal details are ignored and the text is not stored.
- Review the list. Go through the questions and pick the ones that matter to your buyers.
- Choose an action. Add a question to your prompt set, send it to Work, or create a content pack.
What is in a content pack?
A content pack is ready-to-paste HTML for one question. It gives you five parts.
- A quick answer, written to sit near the top of a page.
- An FAQ block with FAQPage JSON-LD.
- A Q&A section.
- An author bio with Person schema.
- Article JSON-LD for the page.
For bigger pieces, content drafts can generate a full article draft for a Work task. Either way, it helps to have someone who knows the subject read and edit before anything goes live. Our guide to FAQ content for AI search covers how to use these blocks well.
How is prompt research different from keyword research?
Keyword research looks for short search terms and their volumes. Prompt research looks for whole questions, in the words people use when they ask an AI engine or a friend. The two overlap, and it helps to use both.
The main difference is in what you do next. A keyword tells you which page to rank. A question tells you what the page should actually say. It also gives you a prompt you can run through the AI engines to see who they name today. That makes prompt research the link between your content plan and your tracking.
Why does prompt research matter for AI search?
AI engines answer questions, so the questions you pick shape everything that follows. Track the wrong ones and you may miss where buyers really ask. Answer the wrong ones and you may write pages no engine needs.
Real questions also tend to be longer and more specific than keywords. "Do I need planning permission for a garden room in Scotland" tells you far more than "garden room". Those longer questions are often where AI engines give the most detailed answers, and where a clear page can be picked up.
What do you see on screen?
You see a list of questions with their source, so you know where each one came from. From any question you can add it to prompts, send it to Work or build a content pack.
Questions sent to Work carry their evidence and links, so whoever picks up the task knows why it matters.
Who uses it?
Content teams use it to plan pages around real questions. Agencies use it at the start of a new client, to build a prompt set that reflects the client's market. Sales-led firms use their own call notes to find the questions that come up again and again. QA Finder is on the Premium plan and above.
For the thinking behind this, see our guide to prompt research.
Where it fits
Questions from QA Finder feed straight into AI visibility tracking. Reddit insights finds the communities those Reddit questions come from. Content drafts and Work turn chosen questions into published pages.
