Ian DuncanFounder, Axiom Flux and AxiomAIReviewed 6 min read

In brief

OtterlyAI suits solo marketers, small teams and agencies that want affordable daily tracking of brand mentions and cited links across many AI engines. Axiom GEO suits teams that also need AI answers checked for accuracy, UK rank tracking, reviews and white label client reports in one login, at a higher starting price.

Key points

  • OtterlyAI tracks brand mentions and every cited domain and URL daily across up to seven AI engines.
  • OtterlyAI prices plans by the number of search prompts, with extra engines sold as add-ons.
  • Axiom GEO checks each claim in an AI answer against an approved fact sheet, which OtterlyAI's site does not list.
  • OtterlyAI's help centre says it does not offer native white label and suggests its Looker Studio connector instead.
  • Axiom GEO adds classic search tools in the same login, such as UK rank tracking, reviews and local citations.

The short version

OtterlyAI and Axiom GEO both run your prompts through AI engines and report brand mentions, cited links and sentiment. OtterlyAI focuses on daily AI search monitoring and GEO audits, with plans priced by the number of prompts and a low-cost entry plan. Axiom GEO adds answer accuracy checks, classic search tools and white label client reports, and starts at a higher price. If you want simple, affordable tracking across many engines, OtterlyAI is a sensible choice. If you also need to fix wrong facts or run local SEO for clients, Axiom GEO covers more of that work.

How do they compare?

The table sets out what each product lists. The OtterlyAI column comes only from OtterlyAI's own website and help centre, read in September 2026.

Where OtterlyAI is strong

OtterlyAI is easy to start with. Its pricing page shows plans priced by the number of search prompts, with unlimited team members and daily tracking. At the time of writing (September 2026), the entry Lite plan is listed at $29 a month for 15 prompts. There is a free trial for new users, and annual billing comes with a discount.

It covers a wide set of engines. The help centre lists ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. It says it queries these daily as a neutral, non-personalised user, so results are not skewed by browsing history.

Citation tracking is a core feature. The features page says every domain and URL cited in AI answers is checked daily. That makes it simple to see which pages AI engines lean on in your topic.

A few other features are worth a mention.

  • Brand sentiment. Shows whether a brand is recommended warmly, mentioned with caveats or dismissed.
  • AI Prompt Research. Helps find prompts people in your industry might use on ChatGPT.
  • GEO Audit. Crawlability checks, a content audit with prediction, and content briefs.
  • Workspaces. Several brands and clients inside one subscription.
  • Looker Studio connector. Pulls OtterlyAI data into your own dashboards, with scheduled email delivery.

According to its website, OtterlyAI is used by more than 40,000 marketing professionals.

Where Axiom GEO is different

The main difference is answer accuracy. Being mentioned only helps if the answer is right. Axiom GEO builds a fact sheet of your business, approved by a person, then checks every claim in an answer. Each claim is marked correct, partly true, wrong, out of date or not covered. Similar problems are grouped into issues with the engines that said it and a suggested fix. You can read more on the answer accuracy page. OtterlyAI's site does not list a check like this.

The second difference is classic search in the same login. Axiom GEO includes rank tracking to town level anywhere in the UK, Google AI Overview tracking, Google Business Profile reviews, local citations and link building. OtterlyAI's site does not list rank tracking or review tools.

The third is client reporting. OtterlyAI's white label help page says its interface, branding and URLs cannot be customised, and points agencies to its Looker Studio connector. Axiom GEO sends client reports as white label monthly PDFs with the client's logo. Numbers are re-checked by automated claim checks before a report goes out. Each client workspace is isolated at database level, with its own client logins.

Share of voice is scored a little differently too. Axiom GEO weights each mention by position, so being named first counts more than being named last. A 0-100 prominence score folds in recommendation, citations and sentiment. AI citation tracking classifies each cited domain, such as directory, review site, listicle or competitor page.

Local and regional work is built in. You can run the same prompts per country or region, with location-aware prompts for AI engines, and split share of voice by geography. That helps a firm with several branches see where it shows up and where a rival is named instead. Reddit communities discovery also finds the subreddits that AI engines cite in your topic, using answers you already hold.

How answers are collected also differs, and it is fair to say so. Axiom GEO asks each engine through its API. Gemini and Claude answer from what the model already knows, which shows how the model itself sees your brand. Consumer apps can differ a little because of personal history, location and model version.

Price is the other honest difference. Axiom GEO starts at £500 a month on the pricing page, which is well above OtterlyAI's entry plan. The Starter plan covers Gemini only. The extra cost pays for accuracy checks, classic search, reporting and work management in one place, so it makes most sense when you need those.

Which should you choose?

It depends on budget and how much you need beyond tracking. Some common cases are below.

  • A solo marketer or small team starting out. OtterlyAI is a sensible choice, for its low entry price and simple daily tracking.
  • A team that wants many engines on a small budget. OtterlyAI, with engines added as you need them.
  • A brand worried about wrong facts in AI answers. Axiom GEO, because it checks each claim against your approved facts.
  • An agency that sends branded client reports. Axiom GEO, with white label PDF reports and client logins. See our agencies page.
  • A UK business with local customers. Axiom GEO, for town-level rank tracking, reviews and location-aware prompts in one place.

It helps to trial any tool on your own prompts first. Our guide on how to choose an AI visibility tool lists the questions worth asking, and the compare hub has our other comparisons.

Frequently asked questions

Is Axiom GEO a good alternative to OtterlyAI?

Yes, if you need more than mention and citation tracking. Axiom GEO adds accuracy checks, classic search tools and white label reports. OtterlyAI may suit you better if you want simple daily tracking across many engines at a lower starting price, and do not need those extras.

Does OtterlyAI check AI answers for accuracy?

Its site does not list an accuracy check. The pages read in September 2026 describe brand mentions, cited links, sentiment, share of voice, prompt research and a GEO audit. Axiom GEO checks each claim in an answer against a fact sheet you approve, on the Professional plan and above.

Which AI engines does OtterlyAI track?

Its help centre lists ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Microsoft Copilot. The pricing page shows the entry plan covering ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, with AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as paid add-ons.

Which is better for agencies?

It depends on how you report. OtterlyAI has workspaces for several clients and a Looker Studio connector for branded dashboards, but says it has no native white label. Axiom GEO sends white label monthly PDF reports with the client's logo and gives clients their own logins.

Can I use both?

Yes. A team could use OtterlyAI for low-cost daily tracking across many engines and use Axiom GEO for accuracy fixes, local search and client reporting. The main cost is paying twice for AI tracking, so it helps to agree which tool owns which prompts.
