Profound alternatives worth a look

Ian DuncanFounder, Axiom Flux and AxiomAIReviewed 4 min read

In brief

If Profound's hidden enterprise price is the problem, Otterly starts at $29 a month. Peec AI works most like Profound, collecting answers through each engine's web interface. Semrush and Ahrefs make sense if you already pay for them. Axiom GEO, our product, publishes its prices and adds accuracy checks and rank tracking.

Key points

  • We make Axiom GEO, one of the tools here. Facts about the others come from their own pages, read on 25 October 2026.
  • Profound's pricing page shows a free 7-day trial and custom Enterprise pricing, with up to nine engines on Enterprise.
  • Peec AI is the closest match on method, since it also collects answers through each engine's web interface.
  • Otterly is the lowest-cost alternative, from $29 a month for 15 prompts.
  • Axiom GEO publishes its prices, checks answers for accuracy on every plan and adds rank tracking, but covers fewer engines than Profound.

One of the alternatives on this page is ours. We have tried to be fair to the rest, using only what each vendor publishes, read on 25 October 2026 and linked at the bottom. For a deeper look at Profound against our own tool, see Axiom GEO vs Profound.

What Profound gets right

Profound is built for large brands, and it shows. Its Enterprise plan lists up to nine engines. These are ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, AI Overviews and Exa Search. Answers are captured from the browser, so they match what customers see. On top of tracking it has prompt volume data, crawler analytics from server logs, ChatGPT Shopping tracking and FactCheck for wrong claims.

You can try it free for 7 days, with 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews. After that it is Enterprise pricing on request, or an Agency Growth plan with 400 credits a month per client workspace.

If you have a procurement team and a long list of engines to cover, Profound is probably the right tool and you can stop here.

Why teams look elsewhere

The pricing page shows a trial and custom Enterprise pricing and nothing in between, so a small team cannot budget without a sales call. Plenty of businesses only need ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers, and do not want to pay for nine. Others want rankings in the same account as AI answers. Agencies tend to care more about client workspaces and reports than about engine count.

Peec AI

Of the tools here, Peec AI works most like Profound. It reads answers through each engine's web interface as a logged-out user, rather than through an API. You choose a set of models on each plan and can add more, and claims in answers are marked supported or contradicted. Starter is €85 a month for 50 prompts on three models. See Peec AI pricing.

Otterly

The low-cost option, at $29 a month for 15 prompts or $189 for 100, with a free trial and no sales call. Our UK guide to GEO tools has the engine and add-on detail. See Otterly pricing.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

If you already pay for Semrush, this is the least effort. It is £80.22 a month per domain on yearly billing, with 25 prompts tracked daily. The per-domain price gets expensive across many clients. See Semrush AI pricing.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Brand Radar is for looking up brands you have not set prompts for. Its index starts at €179 a month, and paid Ahrefs plans include a few custom prompts from Lite upwards. See Ahrefs Brand Radar.

Axiom GEO

Our tool, with prices on the website. Plans run from £500 a month plus VAT, for 3 sites and 100 prompts a week, to £1,499 for 10 client workspaces. Every plan includes answer accuracy, which breaks each answer into claims and checks them against a fact sheet you approve. It is the nearest thing we offer to Profound's FactCheck. Rankings, AI Overview checks, reviews and logo-branded client reports are in the same account.

Profound is ahead of us on engine count. It also has browser capture and prompt volume data. We do not track Copilot or DeepSeek answers, or ChatGPT Shopping. See Axiom GEO pricing.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good alternative to Profound?

Peec AI if you want the same browser-style collection and a choice of models. Otterly if price is the issue. Axiom GEO if you are an agency or UK brand and want published prices, accuracy checks and rank tracking together.

Why do people look for Profound alternatives?

Usually price. Profound's pricing page shows a free trial and custom Enterprise pricing, so a smaller team cannot see a cost without a sales call. Some also want classic SEO data or client reporting in the same tool.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Profound?

Yes. Otterly starts at $29 a month for 15 prompts, and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit is £80.22 a month per domain on yearly billing. Axiom GEO starts at £500 a month plus VAT, which is cheaper than many enterprise contracts but not a budget tool.

Does Axiom GEO cover as many engines as Profound?

No. Profound lists up to nine engines on Enterprise, including Copilot, DeepSeek and Exa Search. Axiom GEO covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. If Copilot or DeepSeek matter to your buyers, Profound or Peec AI cover them.
